Abstak

This study aims to explore the teachers’ perspectives on the use of podcast in teaching English
pronunciation. This study uses a qualitative method and the participant consisted of ten English
teachers who have used podcasts as a learning medium. Data were collected through
questionnaires and interviews to obtain information about podcast usage strategies and the
teachers’ perspective on the use of podcast in teaching pronunciation. The results show that
teachers systematically integrate podcast through the selection of appropriate topics, listening
and repetition activities, focused pronunciation exercises, and corrective feedback. The
findings also show that the teacher seen the effects of podcast used on improving the accuracy
and clarity of students' pronunciation, familiarizing them with the pronunciation models of
native speakers, and increasing their confidence in speaking English. However, some students
still experience difficulties in understanding certain speeds and accents. Overall, podcast has
proven to be an effective Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) learning medium in
supporting the development of the technical and affective aspects of pronunciation.
