Songs are learning resources that have so many advantages, including linguistic
resources, affective/psychological resources, and cognitive resources. Songs can
also be used as a medium to teach the four major skills, which are speaking,
reading and writing. Other language skills such as pronunciation, vocabulary and
grammar can be learned with the use of songs as well. The teacher uses the song
to improve student vocabularies mastery. The aim of this study was to know
students opinion about the use of the song method as a medium for learning
English to improve their vocabulary mastery. The method used in this research is
qualitative method. This research used observation and interviews to collecting
the data with the participants are 44 students at junior high school. The findings of
the research showed the teacher's steps in using the song method to develop
students' vocabulary skills. And the findings showed that songs as a method of
learning English can improve students' vocabulary skills, evidenced by the
increase in students test scores and students easier to memorize vocabulary.
Therefore, the researcher suggests to use a song as one of English learning method
