The purpose of the study was to investigate what the differences of language
features used by male and female students. This study used descriptive qualitative
as a frame work for anaiyzing and collecting the data. The writer as the keys
instruments in the research. The daia source of this research is taken from
documentation through video and audio recording to gain the data transcription
about students' utterances. Regarding with the procedure of data analysis, the
writer applies codingxerbal process in classifying the data using Lakoff's theory
of language features on men and women. The participants of the study were
eleven grade students ofa senior high school. The findings of the study revealed
that there are the differences of language iu•.tures used by male and fen:aie
students. Maie students used ail of frie types of language features on men, such as
interruption, vernacular form and gossip. Some male students are using fillers.
Female students used six types of language Ceatures on women such as tilic'$,
empty adjectives, hyper correct grammar, super polite form. avoidance of strong
swear and emphatic stress.
