The existence of this research about self-regulated learning is due to the lack of
learning time in the pronunciation classroom. The media used in this research is
YouTube videos. The purpose of this research is to find out whether YouTube
videos can be used for self-regulated learning in pronunciation practices and the
impact of using YouTube videos in Self-Regulated pronunciation practices.
Participants who took part in this research were students who had carried out
pronunciation learning in class and used YouTube videos as a media for self
regulated pronunciation practices. A total of 17 participants answered the close
ended questionnaire given, 8 of them took part in the open-ended questionnaire.
The findings from this study show that YouTube videos can be used for self
regulated learning in pronunciation practices because students have flexible time to
play learning videos repeatedly whenever they want. As well as the impact of using
YouTube videos for self-regulated learning in pronunciation practices to get
positive results on the understanding and application of intonation, word stress,
vowel, and consonant.
