The aim of this study was to investigate whether or not the Think Pair Share technique could increase students' speaking abilities. The Think Pair Share method is used by the researcher for teaching speaking in 8 grade Cikal Cendikia Junior High School for about 28 students. Think Pair Share is a cooperative learning technique which allows students to collaborate in small groups. This research was conducted by using Classroom Action Research (CAR). Quantitative data was taken by Pre-test and post-test performance and qualitative data was undertaken in this research compiled from observation sheets, interviews, and documentation. This research was conducted in two cycles which each consists’ of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Research shows that the reasons why students are still hesitant in speaking English include being too focused on grammar, lacking vocabulary and pronunciation. The data were gathered through quantitative and qualitative data. The data result of the test was analyzed by using test. The percentage of students speaking performances who got point >75 also grew up. In the pre-test performance, there was only 21,4% (6 students) who got point >75. In the post-test performance I there was 57,1 % (16 students) who got point >75. The post-test performance in cycle II, there was 75% (21 Students) who got point >75 after implementing Think-Pair-Share technique.
