This study to know the teacher„s strategies in reading comprehension class in
SMPN 3 Cibinong and to know the problems in teaching reading comprehension.
The method of this research was qualitative research. This strategies are effective
in teaching reading comprehension can develop about idea which readable, to give
material to the student in order the students was easy to accept material, where
when students finished reading the text the teacher asked the vocabulary in the
reading, helps students on learning activities, aims to recall more significant
information from the texts, students and teachers to share the role of teacher by
allowing both to lead the discussion about a given reading. Those strategies are
use so that students understand the reading and understand the contents of the
reading. Based on this research, those strategies are effective in teaching reading
comprehension because can help students to comprehend the text.
