Media for learning is a tool that functions as a means of communication,
motivation, even distribution of perceptions and for individuality in the
learning process. With the rapid development of technology, the use of
appropriate media for learning is very important so that learning objectives
can be achieved optimally, especially in listening skills. In addition, students
will also feel happier if the learning process used is interesting. One way that
can help students develop listening skills in English is by utilizing online
media related to listening, namely by using the British Council Web-App.
The British Council Web-App is an online site that can help students develop
their English skills, especially in listening. Researcher conducted this
research because they wanted to know students’ perceptions of the use of the
British Council Web-App in listening classroom. The research design used in
this study is a qualitative descriptive method. Researchers used questionnaires
and interviews to collect data. Participants in this study were students at a
university in Bogor. The results of this study indicate that internally students
have a positive perception of the use of the British Council Web-App in
listening classes where the British Council Web-App is an online site for
learning English especially listening, which is easy to access, with available
audio features that are easy to play. In addition, students also enjoy using it
because it can be accessed anytime and anywhere. Therefore, students feel
motivated to develop their listening skills and want British Council to be
applied in listening classes. The obstacle lies in external factors. Namely, the
use of the British Council Web-App needs to be supported with good signal
conditions so that if the signal is not good, then the use of the British Council
Web-App will be slightly disrupted.
