One of the essential areas of language learning is writing. Mastering English writing is
very important, because it will make students to master the language skills more easily.
This paper was entitled The influence of writing English wall magazine for improving
students writing skill. It was aimed at finding a proof that there was positive influence
between writing using wall magazine and writing without using wall magazine.
In this research the writer used descriptive quantitative method based on the data
which can be counted to get the strong quantitative explanation. In this study, the writer
carried out written test because she wanted to know the influence of wall magazine for
improving students’ writing skill. The writer collected the information or data needed from the library and field research. This research took place at 10th grade of SMAN 1
Leuwiliang. This class taken as sample consisted of 40 students for experiment class and 40 students for control class.
The result of the research can be concluded that from the surface analysis, it can be
seen that the mean score of variable X (8.15) was higher than that of the variable Y (7.8). It indicated that teaching writing using wall magazine can improve the students’ writing skill. Using wall magazine can significantly develop students writing skill. This can be seen from the result of the computation in which the calculation of the t-test showed that the t-observed (4.04) was higher then the t-table (2.70). Thus, the different of writing skill between the students who were taught wall magazine and those students who were thaught writing it was very significant. Wall magazine is effective in improving the students’ writing skill.
