The aim of this study is to investigate how was Digital Storytelling
implemented by the teacher in teaching writing narrative text and how was the
students’ response about the use of Digital Storytelling in writing narrative text.
The writing performances of the students were measured by observation class and
artifacts as the result of the students’ project story. The result indicated that in
applying Digital Storytelling, the teacher divided the students into a group then
assessed the students’ project story by asked them to re-tell their stories in front of
class. Besides, the students’ response toward the use of Digital Storytelling in
writing narrative text gained through interview and questionnaires. The result
indicated that Digital Storytelling enhanced students’ interest in writing narrative
text. Moreover, Digital Storytelling gained students’ creativity to start writing,
increased students’ technological knowledge, and make them want to know more
about Digital media to support the learning process.
