: Exploring the Use of ELLLO Web-App in
Listening Classroom: Students’ Perception
ABSTRACT
ELLLO is a website for listening learning which provides free listening
activities and this website was founded in 2004 by Tod Beuckens, an English teacher
based in southern Japan Milliner & Chaikul (2018). The present study exploring the
use of ELLLO Web-App in listening classroom: students’ perception. The purpose of the
study to find out what are students’ perceptions toward the use of ELLLO Web-App
in Listening Classroom, content of ELLLO Web-App and the advantages of using
ELLLO Web-App. A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data
gathered through questionnaires and in-depth interviews with students at a
university in Bogor who learning English used ELLLO Web-App at their listening
classroom. This study involved 20 participants to fill out the questionnaire provided
and 5 students participated in the interview to find out more. The results of this
study indicate that internally students have a positive perception of the use of the
ELLLO Web-App in listening classes where the ELLLO Web-App is an online site
for learning English especially listening, which is easy to access, with available
audio features that are easy to play. In addition, students also enjoy using it because
it can be accessed anytime and anywhere. Therefore, students feel motivated to
develop their listening skills and want British Council to be applied in listening
classes and got many advantages of using ELLLO Web-App.
