This research aims to explore and gain insights into the perspective of English
as a Foreign Language (EFL) students on extensive reading using the Wattpad
platform. Extensive reading is recognized as an effective language learning
approach that promotes language acquisition and enhances reading skills. In
recent years, digital platforms like Wattpad have emerged as popular sources
for accessing a wide variety of reading materials, offering interactive and
engaging reading experiences for language learners. Through the utilization of
a descriptive qualitative method, the study gathers data through interviews and
open-ended surveys to delve into the attitudes, perceptions, and experiences of
EFL students regarding their engagement in extensive reading on Wattpad. The
findings from this research provide valuable insights into the perceived
benefits, challenges, and preferences of EFL students when utilizing the
Wattpad platform for extensive reading. The finding of this research
underscores Wattpad's role is enjoyable for extensive reading, boosting reading
zeal and vocabulary mastery, and showcasing digital platforms' potential in
tailored language learning.
