: Students' Perception on The Use of VoA Learning
English Channel in Listening Activity
ABSTRACT
The use of media has been widely applied in teaching and learning activity. VoA
Learning English is one of the media used in that activity. Videos on VoA learning
English not only can be an appropriate media for practicing students' speaking skills, but
also listening skill. In addition, the use of VoA Learning English is also intended to
increase students' interest in learning English. Therefore this study was conducted to find
out what are students' perceptions on the use of VoA Learning English in English class,
especially in listening activities. Using qualitative methods, research instruments are
observation, questionnaire and interview. The study was conducted on eleventh-grade
students at one of an Islamic senior high school in Bogor with ten students as participants.
From the findings, it can be concluded that students have positive perceptions related to
the use of VoA Learning English in English classes, especially in listening activities.
Most of the students thought VoA Learning English was one of appropriate media that
can be used in their learning English activity, including in listening activity. They also
said that the content of the video from VoA learning English was quiet interesting and
useful for them. In addition, the students were enthusiastic enough during the activity.
