In the digital era, the use of digital media is very needed in learning. With the
rapid development of digital technology, both the variety of platforms and
various learning applications provide new learning styles for students. This
study aims to find out students' perceptions of learning activities using digital
media. This study used a qualitative descriptive method to collect data, and the
participants who participated in this study were 42 university students in Bogor.
The instruments used in this research include questionnaires and interviews to
find out students' perceptions about activities and experiences using digital
media in the learning process during online learning. The results of this study
indicated that there are 4 activities of using digital media in learning, students
usually writing new vocabulary, making discussions with their friends,
practicing English speaking and listening using duolingo or youtube, and
finding the material using youtube and google. The use of digital media is also
effective to improve students' knowledge, increase learning productivity and
flexibility, learning motivation and learning independence.
