Learner agency is a crucial concept in language learning , refering to the learner's ability to take ownership, initiative and responsiility in the their learning process. As stated by Larsen-Freeman et al.(2021), agency is not static but rather a dynamic process shaped by social and technological contexs. This study aimed to explore how university students demontrate learner agency in promoting their listening skills in the digital era. A qualitative research approach with a single case study design was employed, involving three purposefully selected students from an English Language Education program at a private university in Bogor . Data were collected through a close-ended questionnaire and semi structured interviews. The findings revealed that students exhibited key characteristic of leaner agency, including ownership, growht mindset, initiative , willingness to take risks , and resiliance. Among these, initiative emerged as the most prominent , as students actively scheduled their listening time, selected relevant content , and explored various platforms like YouTube and TED Talks . Additionally, strategic tool selection was identitied as the most effective strategy , with participants internationally choosing digital tools that best suited their learning needs and preferences. Furthermore , they implemented strategies such as self- regulation and schelduling, strategic digital tool selection , reflective practices, and personalized adaptation. Therefore , educators and institutions must take an active role in designing learning systems that enable students to excercise agency effectively in their digital learning journeys.
