The purpose of this study is to find out the cause of student reluctance, to implement giving more student talk time (STT) in learning and teaching English in speaking class, and to find out whether it can give more student talk time (STT) to reduce student reticence in English speaking class. This research is a classroom action research study consisting of 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of four levels: planning, action, evaluation, and reflection. In this study, there were 40 students in the 7th grade of junior high school in Bogor. This data is collected through documentation, observation, and semi-structured interviews. The results showed that the causes of students' reluctance in speaking class were shy, lazy, afraid and ignored. The implementing STT as a teaching strategy in learning and teaching English in speaking class. Giving more students’ talk time (STT) as a teacher strategy can reduce students who are reticence in English speaking class.
