In this era, online learning has become commonplace in education. The stability of higher education students' interest in learning dares to demand lecturers make modifications in teaching with various strategies and media, one of which is the practice of sharing knowledge. According to Chong and Besharati (2014), the practice of sharing knowledge in learning builds discussion habits among individuals. The practice of sharing knowledge also creates connections in learning, because it is influenced by trust, knowledge, communication, organizational structure, and information technology. The application of knowledge-sharing practices also receives many responses from college students. This study aimed to describe students' views on the application of cultural values of using knowledge-sharing practice in intercultural communication class.
This research was conducted at a private university in Bogor with a focus on three English Department students who used knowledge-sharing practices in intercultural communication classes as participants. The participants were higher education students in intercultural communication classes aged 20–22 years, with varying grades. This research is qualitative research with narrative inquiry, focus group discussions, and interview instruments. This study found that the application of knowledge-sharing practices in learning motivated students to express their opinions, helped them appreciate cultural differences, stimulated students to think critically, to be active in discussions, and encouraged students to study abroad. For further research, the researcher suggests that future research needs to obtain authentic accuracy with a large group of participants, and this research only focuses on practice strategies for sharing knowledge in online discussions.
