Vocabulary is one of the components of sub-English skills that must be
taught to students because vocabulary has the main role for all languages.
Technology has always been an important part of the teaching and learning
environment. The writer used The Duolingo application as a medium in students’
vocabulary activities. The aim of this study was to know the students' perception
of the use of Duolingo in their learning. This research adopted case study design
and use observation and interviews to collecting the data with the participants.
The findings of the research showed that Duolingo is able to help students'
vocabulary in class activities as a medium to make it easier for students to
communicate. Therefore, A researcher suggest using a Duolingo application in
vocabulary activity.
