KESELAMATAN BERKENDARA (SAFETY RIDING) KENDARAAN
BERMOTOR PADA MAHASISWA DI UNIVERSITAS IBN KHALDUN
BOGOR TAHUN 2017

Keselamatan berkendara (safety riding) merupakan suatu usaha yang
dilakukan dalam meminimalisir tingkat bahaya dan memaksimalkan keselamtan
dalam berkendara. Kasus kecelakaan ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya kesadaran
dan kelalaian manusia, perilaku manusia yang nekat, lalai, tidak tahu, tidak
terampil, letih dari segi kesehatan dan terburu-buru sehingga menyebabkan
kecelakaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan faktor internal
terhadap perilaku keselamatan berkendara pada mahasiswa. Desain penelitian ini
menggunakan metode cross sectional yang bersifat kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian
ini seluruh mahasiswa di Universitas Ibn Khaldun Bogor yang mengendarai
sepeda motor dan responden didapat dengan penghitungan menggunakan rumus
Slovin. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa perilaku keselamatan berkendara tidak aman
53%, pengetahuan rendah 22%, sikap negatif 53%, persepsi negatif 14?n
keterampilan berkendara kurang baik 59%. Dari penelitian ini didapat kesimpulan
bahwa ada hubungan sikap dan keterampilan berkendara terhadap perilaku
keselamatan berkendara (safety riding) dengan perolehan p-value 0,005 (p<0,05)
dan 0,042 (p<0,05). Saran bagi responden adalah agar dapat mematuhi peraturan
lalu lintas yang telah dibuat sesuai undang-undang, menggunakan perlengkapan
berkendara pada saat ingin berkendara dan kesedaran diri sendiri untuk
berperilaku aman dalam berkendara (safety riding) dan bagi responden yang
belum mempunyai SIM, artinya responden belum sepenuhnya terampil
mengendarai sepeda motor dengan baik sehingga disarankan bagi responden
untuk memperoleh SIM sesuai prosedur.

Safety riding is an attempt made to minimite the level of danger and
maximize the safety in driving. Based on the data of Resort Police Traffic Bogor
City, in 2014 there was a traffic accident with the victim died 38 people up to
18%, 48 people were seriously injured up to 42% and 129 minor injuries up to
22%. This case of accidents was caused by the lack of awareness and human
negligence, human behavior is desperate, neglectful, ignorant, unskillful, tired in
terms of health and in a hurry resulting in an accident. The purpose of this
research was to know the relationship between internal factors to the driving
safety behavior in the students. This research used quantitative cross sectional
method. The population of this study were all students at Ibn Khaldun University
of Bogor who were riding motorcycles and respondents obtained by calculation
using Slovin formula. Results indicate that safety driving behavior was not safe
53%, low knowledge 22%, negative attitude 53%, negative perception 14% and
driving skills not good 59%. From this research it could be concluded that there
was relation of attitude and driving skill on safety riding behavior with p-value
0,005 (p <0,05) and 0,042 (p <0,05). Suggestions for respondents were to have
an attitude or sense of responsibility both for themselves or with other people
around them, such as cultivating a sense of responsibility to comply with traffic
rules that have been made and for respondents who doesn’t have a SIM, it mean
the respondent wasn’t fully skilled in riding a motorcycle properly. So, it has to be
recommended for respondents to obtain SIM according to procedure.
