The needs of technology increased since the pandemic came. The limited
distance makes many things disturbed, this situation has affected various
sectors, including education. Every learning process and activities must be
online only, and e-learning plans have been implemented, including digital and
distance learning options, as feasible and appropriate to ensure the continuity
of education for students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, during
the pandemic students must be able to learn on their own as well as become
learner autonomy is important. The aims of this study is to know does English
e-learning supports learners’ autonomy in pandemic era and to know to what
extent does English e-learning support learners' autonomy in pandemic era. In
this study, the researcher used qualitative case study as a design, and the
researcher used closed-ended questionnaire, and interview appears to be
instrument. The findings of this study shows that generally learners' autonomy
is supported in e-learning in the pandemic era in terms of readiness for self
direction and the independent work in learning English, although some of them
still need the teacher guidance in the offline classes by face to face.
