Listening is an essential language skill, alongside speaking, reading, and writing, that plays a crucial role in effective communication and language proficiency. When teaching English, it is important to utilize engaging learning media, such as animated videos. However, understanding listening is the most challenging component of language learning for many students, especially those from non-English-speaking families. The listening skills of Indonesian students are hindered by various factors, including limited exposure to the target language, lack of enthusiasm, and poor listening instruction. Another issue in listening comprehension is daydreaming, which can arise from various factors such as the content being listened to, linguistic features, speaker characteristics, listener limitations, and the physical environment. This research aimed to explore whether the use of animation videos can assist students in improving their listening skills. It employed a qualitative approach, collecting data through questionnaires and interviews given to high school students in Bogor. Thirty respondents participated in the questionnaire, and five were randomly selected for interviews. The findings of this study indicate that the use of animation videos as a learning tool has proven to be highly beneficial for high school students, enhancing their confidence, motivation, and various English language elements. These videos cater to students' audio-visual learning preferences and provide an engaging and practical approach.
