In this globalization era, technology could be one of media that could help both of teacher and students in teaching and learning process. Lately many teachers applied online learning in teaching and learning process. One of the technologies in learning English was by using Instagram. This research aimed at finding out the implementation of instagram in teaching Descriptive text, the improvement of students’ writing skill using Instagram and students’ responses toward the use of instagram in writing descriptive text. The Classroom Action Research was implemented as the research design in this research. This classroom action research was collected using interview and test. The population of this research was students in Vocational High School. Meanwhile, The participants of this research were tenth grade in Vocational High School. It consist of 24 students. This research was conducted in two cycle, each cycle consisted of four step: planning, action, ovservation and reflection. The data were collected from the interview and test which were collected during preliminary study, cycle-one, and cycle-two. The research findings showed that Instagram can improve setudents writing ability in descriptive text. By using instagram the students can comprehend the material. Instagram gave the students steps to learn to make descriptive text. The improvement of students’ writing ability also supported by the achievement of students’ test score. The mean score of pre-test was 61.91. It meant that score of post-test 1 was 71.54, and the main score of post-test 2 was 81.46. It means that post-test 1 was higher than pre-test and post-test 2 was higher than post test 1. The students showed positive responses in writing descriptive text using Instagram. According to them, the implementation of using Instagram improved vocabulary.
