ABSTRACT
This study explored contextualized learning in speaking lessons. A total of 50 junior
high school students at 8th grades were involved the researcher will employ a
descriptive qualitative research design in this investigation approach. Qualitative
research is explorative research, it seeks a detailed understanding of a phenomenon in
a natural setting. It is an approach that is very useful when researchers want to know,
regarding events, who were involved, what was involved, and where did things take
place. (Johnson & Christensen, 2014). The research shows that contextualized speaking
learning can boost confidence, create a fun atmosphere, and enable students to solve
their learning problems. Also the Enthusiasm and Enjoyable. From what has been
elaborate above, it might be said that to generate the learning environments should be
interesting for students that they want to invest their time in the learning and initiate
the learning which is in line CTL’s principle of the self-regulated. The study has
outlined how CTL could be useful in exploring and improving students’ speaking
skills. It is suggested that the results of this study can be taken into consideration for
teachers in teaching speaking to students.
