Teaching Experiences in International Setting.
ABSTRACT
This research investigates the Problems faced by pre-service English teachers during their
international teaching experiences, focusing on a case study of students from a university in Bogor
who taught in Songkhla, Southern Thailand, in 2023. Utilizing a qualitative case study approach,
the research employs closed-ended questionnaires and structured interviews to explore issues
related to curriculum, language proficiency, teaching methods, and instructional materials.
Findings reveal that pre-service English teachers encounter significant difficulties including
outdated curricula, language barriers, limited instructional time, and inadequate teaching
materials. Solutions proposed by participants include Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS), Create
Facebook groups, Create Additional Courses and used Communicative Language Teaching (CLT).
