The focus of this study was the students’ responses to the use of the English translation of the Noble Qur’an as an authentic material in learning English vocabulary. The research used a qualitative case study approach. The data from the interview and documentation were used to answer the research question. Four elementary students from TPQ (Taman Pengajian Al-Quran) were taken as participants. From three categories of response: feeling (affective), knowledge (cognitive), and understanding (conative) (Amir, 2015), research findings show the result of students’ responses. The feeling aspect displays that participants found it enjoyable and joyful to learn from the short surah of the Noble Qur'an. They felt more passionate about studying English. From the knowledge aspect, the participants demonstrated that their vocabulary increased when learning the Noble Quran's translation in English. They claimed to have acquired the English vocabulary of Surah al-Ikhlas and an-Nas. Meanwhile, from an understanding aspect, students claimed that learning English vocabulary can be meaningful since the learners were active participants in the process. Additionally, it can be observed from documentation data that students were enthusiastic, motivated, and happy about studying English. Students' interest and motivation in learning English through the Noble Quran's English translation as an authentic material have already involved the knowledge and attitude that students should possess. Thus, using English translations of short surahs from the Quran to learn English vocabulary is recommended since it can make learning relevant to the classroom.
