This research aims to find the influence of gender and learning motivation on English speaking skill score. The design of the study is quantitative research which uses Two Way ANOVA test. Fifty two students of second grade at SMA Al-Hasra as the sample of this study. They have answered 20 closed-ended questionnaires about English speaking learning motivation and data documents of their speaking skill score. The result shows there are 12 male students with high motivation category (X1.1 X2.1), 11 male with low motivation category (X1.1 X2.2), 23 female students with high learning motivation category (X1.2 X2.1) and 6 female students
with low motivation category (X1.2 X2.2). The difference of male with high motivation and females with high motivation is shown on means score. The males’ mean score is 80.26 with high motivation and 84.86 for females with high motivation has deviation of value 4.6. Females have higher means’ score than male. The difference between males with low motivation and females with low motivation is shown on means score. The males with low motivation have means’ score 74.00 and for females with low motivation have means’ score 76.33. The deviation value of them is 2.33. Either low or high motivation, females have higher
scores than male based on means’ score. But the significant value does not show there is no difference significantly on interaction of gender to speaking score because the significant value is 0.324>0.05 that means there is no interaction. The interaction between gender and motivation on students’ speaking skill scores in the research shows there is no interaction because the significant value is 0.718 > 0.05. The variable of motivation shows that there is interaction or influence on English speaking skill score. Students who have high motivation get higher scores than students who have low motivation. And the significant value shows that there is interaction or influence of motivation on English speaking skill scores.
