Students? self-determination is important in learning, especially learning English related to reading comprehension. Students? self-determination can determine students motivation based on three psychological needs, namely: autonomy, competence, and relatedness. This research aims to know students? self-detrmination in reading comprehension test and to find out the factors that influence students self determination in reading comprehension test. This study used qualitative with case study design and the study used a questionnaire and interview to collect the data. The participants in this study were 22 students for questionnaires, while 6 students for interviews in 11 grade. The results shows that the students have intrinsic motivation related to autonomy, competence, and relatedness. The factors that influence students' self-determination in reading comprehension test were willingness and self-awareness of students themselves. The implication of this study is that people have different motivation through self-determination they can realize their goals, making it important to study.
