Analysis on The Conjunction of Time Used by
Students in Writing Narrative Text
Abstract
This research focused on analyzing the conjunction of time that students used in
writing narrative text. The purposes of this study were to find what the
conjunction of time students used in writing narrative text and to find students’
difficulties in using conjunction of time in writing narrative text.The research
method of this study was descriptive qualitative research. The research setting and
participants of this research were the tenth grade of SMK Nahdlatul Ulama
Cigombong. The writer used random sampling technique in doing the research.
The data were collected through the students’ worksheets.The conjunction of time
used by students was not balance, they also faced some difficulties in using
conjunction of time in writing narrative text. The difficulties were caused of
internal factors. The internal factors that occured were the lack of students’
knowledge base in having conjunction of time vocabularies and the ability in
using conjunction of time. Morever, the students’ ability of using conjunction of
time in writing narrative text showed some variations and they used conjunction
of time which they often found in sentence. In this case, the students need more
explanation and more exercise about the conjunction of time and how to use it.
