Abstak
The aim of this research was to find out teachers’ perspective on using role play as
a method for teaching speaking English. And to find out students’ impact on using
this role play method for speaking skill. This research used qualitative method and
it was conducted to four High School English teachers. The data of the research
were collected by using interview and observation. The result showed that there
was a positive and negative teachers’ perspective on using role play mehod in
teaching speaking English. And there was four impact for students’ speaking skill
on using role play mehod. It could be proven from the improvement of teachers
interviewed data and mean score from pretest to posttest. In conclusion, Role play
method was impacted for students’ speaking skill
